Steps for the Current Owner
To transfer the Ceres tags from your Ceres Portal account to another account follow the steps below.
Login to your Ceres Portal account, and from your dashboard select View Tags.
Select the location of your tags, and “Apply Filters” to see a list of all tags at that location.
From the list of tags returned, select the Visual ID’s of the tag's you are wanting to transfer (this is the number etched on the outside of your tags just below the solar panel), click the actions drop down and select “Transfer Tags Off my Location”.
A box will appear directing you to 'Select a Reason' for transfer. Select ' Animals Sold to Known Owner'.
Enter the email address of the new owner in the box provided. Hit Confirm.
You will no longer be able to find these tag Visual ID’s in your account, the new Owner will not see these Visual ID’s until they accept the transfer.
You will receive an email notifying you that the transfer has been done.
Steps for the New Owner
To claim the Tags as the new owner follow the steps below.
Login to your Ceres Portal Account. If you do not yet have a Ceres Portal account you will need to create a new account.
You should see a notification pending on your dashboard (if you don’t, please contact customer support). Click Resolve.
This will take you to the 'Claim Tags Page'. The Tag Visual ID’s that have been transferred to you will be listed below.
Select the tags you wish to claim ensuring the Visual ID’s listed match the tags you have. The Visual ID is the number etched on the outside of your tags just below the solar panel.
In the dropdown box above the Visual ID’s select the location you would like these tags to be assigned to. Make sure this is the correct location that links to your software so you can view tag data.
Select the 'Transfer' Button to Confirm.
