The man overseeing the technology, Dr Ben Allen is no stranger to tracking animals.
He grew up working alongside his father Dr Lee Allen putting collars on animals for research in the 1980s, moving into the same field himself for government research for 10 years, then for the University of Southern Queensland for another 10 years, before joining CERES TAG early in 2025.
