CERES TAG, the world’s first direct-to-satellite animal monitoring platform, has been awarded the prestigious Secured by Design (SBD) Secure Connected Device (SCD) accreditation.
This endorsement, part of an official UK police initiative, recognises Internet of Things (IoT) products that have achieved the appropriate and relevant IoT standards and certification, meaning stringent steps have been taken to protect consumers and reduce vulnerability to cyber security attacks. SBD’s aim is to help ‘design out’ crime by using high-quality, innovative products and processes. It is the only way for products and companies to obtain formal police recognition in the United Kingdom.
In achieving SCD accreditation, CERES TAG reinforces its commitment to safeguarding data, livestock, and critical assets in rural and remote operations across agriculture, biosecurity, law enforcement, and conservation. Both the RANCH and RANCHER products underwent rigorous independent IoT testing and design evaluation to meet the criteria required for SCD accreditation, as well as the IASME IoT Cyber Assurance Level 2 certification.
