Many Australians are influenced by agriculture in some way, but becoming a livestock producer is still a dream that can feel out of reach for many.

For 27-year-old Jean Liebenberg, the journey started long before he stepped onto a farm in Australia.

Growing up in South Africa, he spent time on his grandparents' dairy farm, an early experience that quietly planted the seed for what would become a lifelong interest in agriculture.

After moving to Australia in 2007, Mr Liebenberg initially followed a very different path. In 2017, he began studying paramedicine, but despite enjoying the course, the pull toward agriculture never quite went away.

Eventually, that interest proved too strong to ignore, and he made the decision to change direction and pursue a degree in Agricultural Science.

Over the following years, Mr Liebenberg began building his career in the industry, gaining hands-on experience working in feedlots across stock teams, feed teams and logistics.
