Bringing animal-level data and livestock mortality insurance closer together to help producers protect the value of their livestock

KANSAS CITY, USA – September 16, 2026 – CERES TAG, a direct-to-satellite livestock tracking and monitoring company, has announced a new collaboration with Acies Agricultural Risks, a division of Acies USA, Inc., to provide CERES TAG customers with easier access to livestock mortality insurance solutions.

The collaboration brings together two complementary areas of the livestock industry: animal-level intelligence and financial risk management. Through the relationship, CERES TAG customers will have a dedicated pathway to learn more about livestock mortality insurance solutions available through Acies Ag, helping producers consider both the day-to-day management of their animals and the financial risks associated with valuable livestock assets.

As part of the collaboration, CERES TAG will provide customers with access through its digital platform to a dedicated Acies Ag livestock mortality insurance resource.

CERES TAG’s smart ear tag technology connects individual animals directly to satellite, allowing producers to monitor livestock remotely and access information such as location, activity, health and welfare indicators, reproduction and productivity. The technology is designed to provide greater visibility over animals, particularly across large and remote operations where traditional connectivity can be limited.

For both companies, the collaboration reflects the growing role technology and data can play in helping livestock producers better understand and manage risk.

David Smith, CEO of CERES TAG, said:

“Livestock producers are managing increasingly valuable animals across increasingly complex operating environments. The more information producers have about their livestock, the better positioned they are to make informed decisions about how those animals are managed and protected.

“CERES TAG provides visibility at the individual animal level, while Acies brings specialist knowledge in livestock mortality insurance. Bringing those capabilities together makes sense and gives our customers another resource to consider when managing the risks associated with valuable livestock.

“We see this as the beginning of a broader conversation around how livestock data can support producers beyond traditional production decisions.”

Jeff Nelson, President of Acies Agricultural Risks, said:

“We are pleased to collaborate with CERES TAG and make our livestock mortality insurance solutions more accessible to producers using connected livestock technology.

“Technology is giving producers greater visibility into the location, activity and performance of their animals. We see an opportunity for that visibility and specialist insurance knowledge to work alongside each other, helping producers take a more informed approach to managing their livestock assets.”

The initial collaboration will create a streamlined pathway for CERES TAG customers to learn about and access Acies Ag’s livestock mortality insurance services. The companies will also explore further opportunities to work together as the relationship develops.

For CERES TAG, the collaboration forms part of its broader vision for a connected livestock ecosystem, where information generated from individual animals can contribute to a wider range of decisions across a livestock operation.
